2018 Reloading ClassReloading Workshop Recap

In early August, we co-led a two-day Precision Rifle Reloading Class with Jim Kauber of The Site Firearms Training Center in Mt. Carroll, IL, along with Forster ProStaff Dave & Cathy Logosz and Rich Machholz.

This hands-on workshop included instruction on reloading new and fired brass on a bench setup. The participants took part in clinics on such reloading products as Co-Ax® Reloading Press, Co-Ax® Primer Seater, case resizing dies, case trimmer tools, and sizing lubricants.

Then, we returned to the shooting range and compared the accuracy of our groupings with the earlier baseline targets.

The response has been so positive that we have added two workshops for 2019, on June 29 – 30 and October 12 – 13. Please let us know if you’re interested!

Forster Products Earns ISO 9001:2015 Certification

In June 2018 Forster was certified compliant with ISO 9001:2015 management standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Forster adheres to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standards. Forster Products' certificate CERT-05739-2006-AQ-HOU-ANAB is accredited by independent auditor DNV.

We again opened our doors and processes to international registrar DNV-GL, which has audited Forster since 2003. According to Forster CFO Bob Ruch,

“ISO recognition is a clear sign that a manufacturer is committed to innovation and quality, with a demonstrated focus on meeting customer needs. We welcome the transparency and find that these audits give Forster an added opportunity to streamline our processes, improve safety, and plan for the future.”

Inlay FillingInlay Filling Compatibility

Gunsmiths are pioneers in applying new materials and coatings, and we appreciate your reliance on the Gold and Silver Inlay Filling kits to adorn and personalize firearms.

Recently, Forster has received inquiries about using Inlay Filling with a high-temp Cerakote™ finish. It deserved some real-world testing, and we asked an independent gunsmith to check for adhesion and material compatibility. Jeremy Taylor evaluated his Cerakote-treated, inlaid stock under normal conditions. He even ran it through a carbine course for further evaluation, reporting,

“The application process was simple and succinct. I am pleased to inform you that I would say with reasonable certainty that it is 100% effective. It functioned as promised and…exceeded expectations.”

Reloading TipReloading Tip

How can I adjust the headspace of my sizing die without removing the die from Co-Ax® Press?

Slightly loosen the adjustment screw on the lock ring of the die, and hold the lock ring in place while turning the die to the amount desired.

Then, tighten the lock ring and continue sizing cases.
